ReStore Volunteering FAQ’s
Do I need to have special skills?
No experience is required – just a willingness to work and to learn! Volunteers should be comfortable lifting 30-50 pounds.
How old does a ReStore volunteer need to be?
To volunteer at our ReStores, you must be at least 16 years of age. Youth ages 16- 18 are not permitted to use power tools or be on ladders. All youth volunteers must bring a Youth Waiver and Release of Medical Treatment form filled out and signed by their parent/guardian.
When can I volunteer at the ReStore?
Our volunteer days are currently Monday through Sunday of each week. The ReStores offer both a morning and an afternoon shift. Volunteers must be on time for their shift or they will not be permitted to stay. New volunteers at the ReStore will be given a thorough orientation. All volunteers will sign in and complete a waiver form.
What do I need to bring to the ReStore?
Please bring work gloves, lunch or snacks, water bottle, and sturdy/closed shoes (no flip flops, sandals, or crocs).
What if I’m doing community service for school or for the courts?
All community service hours must be done at the ReStores. You cannot perform your community service hours with Habitat if your ticket is related to theft, aggression or crimes involving minors. All court ordered volunteers must read our Court Community Service packets.
What about inclement weather?
You will be contacted the night before to let you know the status of our affiliate.
How do I sign up?
You must contact our volunteer coordinator at (856) 439-6717 Ext. 102.
